About
Westcott Beach State Park occupies a scenic stretch of Lake Ontario shoreline in New York's Thousand Islands region, just 3 miles west of historic Sackets Harbor. The 146-site campground spreads across wooded loops with a mix of back-in and pull-through sites accommodating equipment up to 50 feet. Eight full-service cottages provide an alternative to tent and RV camping. The park's sheltered position on Henderson Bay creates calm waters ideal for swimming at the sandy beach. Recreation centers on the lake, with a boat launch, seasonal dockage, and excellent fishing for smallmouth bass, walleye, and northern pike. Onshore amenities include hiking trails through meadows and woodland, a children's playground, volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, and ball fields. The Plateau Loop remains open later into fall for campers seeking shoulder-season stays. Winter visitors can explore trails on cross-country skis or snowshoes. Facilities include modern restrooms with showers, a water fill-up station, and an RV dump station. Electric hookups are available at select sites, though full hookups (water/sewer) are not offered. Most facilities are wheelchair accessible. Reservations can be made up to 9 months in advance through ReserveAmerica.
