About

Westcott Beach State Park is a popular day-use and camping destination on Lake Ontario, nestled within rolling, wooded hills and open, grassy meadows sheltered by Henderson Bay. The park offers 168 restful campsites situated on a bluff that provides spectacular views of the surrounding area. Located in New York's Thousand Islands Region, the park combines natural beauty with recreational opportunities for campers and day visitors alike. The park features a long, sandy swimming beach with a small marina adjacent to it, making it ideal for both beach-goers and boating enthusiasts. Lake Ontario is known for excellent black bass fishing, and the marina accommodates anglers seeking to take advantage of these waters. Day-use amenities include a children's playground, multiple picnic areas with pavilions available for rent, and hiking trails that wind through the park's varied terrain. During winter months, the park's hiking trails serve double duty as cross-country skiing routes. While the campground closes seasonally, the boat launches at Westcott Beach, Chaumont, and Stoney Creek remain open year-round from dawn to dusk. The park is conveniently located near the charming towns of Sackets Harbor and Henderson Harbor, with easy access to Watertown for supplies and the broader Thousand Islands area for additional exploration.
