Kings Mountain State Park Campground sits in York County's Piedmont region, approximately 40 miles southwest of Charlotte, North Carolina. The campground features 115 standard sites on packed gravel with individual water and electrical hookups, accommodating RVs up to 40 feet. Six tent-only hammock sites (H1-H6) offer a more primitive experience, with three including shelters and electricity. Equestrian campers have access to 15 dedicated sites with 20/30/50-amp electrical service, two corrals, picnic tables, and fire rings.
All standard sites include picnic tables, fire rings, and access to hot showers, flush restrooms, and a dump station. WiFi is available throughout the park. The surrounding park offers over 20 miles of hiking trails, 30 miles of equestrian trails, and two fishing lakes (Lake Crawford and Lake York). Adjacent to Kings Mountain National Military Park, the area provides excellent opportunities for exploring Revolutionary War history alongside the park's 1800s Living History Farm.
Reservations require a minimum two-night stay, with a maximum of 14 consecutive nights followed by a mandatory 7-day absence before rebooking. Maximum occupancy is 6 persons per site with up to 2 vehicles allowed.
