About
Sedalia Campground sits in a mixed pine-hardwood forest at approximately 570 feet elevation in Union County, South Carolina. Part of the Enoree Ranger District of the Francis Marion and Sumter National Forests, this primitive campground caters primarily to hunters, hikers, and those seeking a rustic outdoor experience. The surrounding forest sustains abundant wildlife populations, making it one of the most desirable hunting areas in the state during big game deer and turkey seasons. The campground operates year-round with four single-family campsites and one group site available for reservations. During hunting seasons, an additional loop opens with five single-family sites and two group sites. Facilities are minimal: one vault toilet, rock fire rings at each site, one water spigot near the entrance, and a trash receptacle. There are no picnic tables, hookups, or showers. A 14-day stay limit applies per 30-day period. Beyond hunting, the campground provides access to the Enoree Passage of the Palmetto Trail for hiking and serves as a base for exploring the Johns Creek Lake complex for fishing, the Enoree and Tyger Rivers for boating, and the Enoree OHV Trail in Newberry County. Cell coverage is sporadic, and visitors should wear blaze orange during hunting seasons (September through December and April).
