About

Currant Creek Campground sits beside Currant Creek Reservoir at 8,000 feet elevation in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. The campground offers approximately 100 sites across multiple loops, including single sites, double sites, group sites, and equestrian camping. Sites feature paved parking spurs, picnic tables, fire rings, and grills, with flush restrooms and drinking water throughout. A dump station serves RV campers, and a small camp store at the entrance provides firewood, ice, and basic supplies. The reservoir provides outstanding fishing for rainbow, cutthroat, and brown trout, with an on-site boat ramp for motorized and non-motorized watercraft. An ADA-accessible fishing pier and playground are available. Numerous trails surround the area for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding, including Currant Creek Trail which begins in D Loop. The campground is situated among aspen, fir, and lodgepole pine with partial shade, and nearly every site offers views of the reservoir and mountains. Deer and elk frequently visit, and summer wildflowers are abundant. The campground enforces a 7-day stay limit with 2-night minimums on weekends and 3-night minimums on holiday weekends. ATVs and OHVs are prohibited within the campground. Quiet hours run from 10pm to 6am. This is bear country, so proper food storage is required.
