Open year-round. Park gates open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Heat safety alert in effect during summer months when temperatures frequently exceed 105°F. Reservations can be made 48 hours to 4 months in advance; walk-up camping available within 48 hours on a first-come, first-served basis.

Moisture associated with the remnants of Tropical Storm Rachel will impact Utah this weekend bringing widespread rainfall totals ranging from 2-4". Some highly localized amounts to 6-8" are also possible, particularly across terrain-favored locations in southwestern Utah, the Book Cliffs, and Bear River Range. * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...A portion of Utah, including the following areas, Castle Country, Central Mountains, Eastern Juab/Millard Counties, San Rafael Swell, Sanpete Valley, Sevier Valley, Wasatch Plateau/Book Cliffs, Bryce Canyon Country, Capitol Reef National Park and Vicinity, Glen Canyon Recreation Area/Lake Powell, South Central Utah, Southern Mountains, Upper Sevier River Valleys, Western Canyonlands, Lower Washington County, Southwest Utah and Zion National Park. This also includes recent burn scars such as Forsyth, Cottonwood, Silver King, France Canyon, and Monroe Canyon. * WHEN...From Saturday afternoon through Monday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, dry washes, slot canyons, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations such as slickrock areas and recent burn scars. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Anomalously high moisture is forecast to impact the region with the arrival of the remnants of Tropical Storm Rachel. Snow Canyon State Park campground provides a striking desert camping experience in the heart of southwestern Utah's red rock country. Located two miles into the park on Snow Canyon Drive, the campground is tucked into the orange sandstone cliffs with views of the surrounding lava fields and petrified dunes. The 7,400-acre park offers over 20 miles of trails accessible directly from camp. The campground features 38 sites including options with water and electric hookups, primitive tent sites, walk-in hike sites, and group camping areas. Modern amenities include restrooms with showers, potable water, and an RV dump station. Fire rings and grills are provided in designated areas. Campers have access to the park's visitor center, which offers snacks, water refills, and educational materials. Despite its name, Snow Canyon is a desert environment where summer temperatures frequently exceed 105°F. The park operates year-round with gates open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Flash flood risk exists during monsoon season from July through September. Dogs are permitted throughout the campground and on all trails when leashed.
Directions
From St. George, head north on Bluff Street which becomes Utah State Route 18. Continue approximately 7 miles and turn left onto Snow Canyon Drive. The campground is located 2 miles into the park.
