Open year-round. Park gates open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Heat safety alert in effect during summer months when temperatures frequently exceed 105°F. Reservations can be made 48 hours to 4 months in advance; walk-up camping available within 48 hours on a first-come, first-served basis.

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of Utah, including the following areas, Castle Country, Central Mountains, Eastern Juab/Millard Counties, San Rafael Swell, Sanpete Valley, Sevier Valley, Bryce Canyon Country, Capitol Reef National Park and Vicinity, Glen Canyon Recreation Area/Lake Powell, South Central Utah, Southern Mountains, Upper Sevier River Valleys, Western Canyonlands, Lower Washington County and Zion National Park. * WHEN...Through Monday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, dry washes, slot canyons, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations such as slickrock areas and recent burn scars including Widemouth 2, Cottonwood, Monroe Canyon, Forsyth, and other recent burn scars. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Deep moisture will continue to support thunderstorms with heavy rainfall across the watch area through Monday evening, particularly during the afternoon and evening. Snow Canyon State Park campground provides a striking desert camping experience in the heart of southwestern Utah's red rock country. Located two miles into the park on Snow Canyon Drive, the campground is tucked into the orange sandstone cliffs with views of the surrounding lava fields and petrified dunes. The 7,400-acre park offers over 20 miles of trails accessible directly from camp. The campground features 38 sites including options with water and electric hookups, primitive tent sites, walk-in hike sites, and group camping areas. Modern amenities include restrooms with showers, potable water, and an RV dump station. Fire rings and grills are provided in designated areas. Campers have access to the park's visitor center, which offers snacks, water refills, and educational materials. Despite its name, Snow Canyon is a desert environment where summer temperatures frequently exceed 105°F. The park operates year-round with gates open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Flash flood risk exists during monsoon season from July through September. Dogs are permitted throughout the campground and on all trails when leashed.
Directions
From St. George, head north on Bluff Street which becomes Utah State Route 18. Continue approximately 7 miles and turn left onto Snow Canyon Drive. The campground is located 2 miles into the park.
