About
Baker Dam Campground is a BLM-managed facility located along Baker Dam Reservoir in southwestern Utah, about 24 miles north of St. George via State Route 18. Developed in the early 1980s and expanded in 1994 to meet growing demand, the campground provides 18 sites with vehicle parking, tent pads, picnic tables, and fire pits with grills. Accessible vault toilets serve the area, though no potable water, electrical hookups, or dump station are available.
The reservoir is annually stocked by Utah Division of Wildlife Resources with rainbow and brown trout, drawing anglers throughout the year. The area also supports migratory and resident birds along the Santa Clara River's riparian corridor, including eagles, herons, and gray flycatchers. Hunters can pursue deer, quail, and rabbit on adjacent public lands outside the recreation area.
The adjacent Pine Valley Ranger District and BLM lands offer additional recreation including hiking and OHV riding on existing roads and trails, though OHV use is prohibited within the recreation area itself. Snow Canyon State Park and Pine Valley Recreation Area are nearby attractions.
