About

Gunlock State Park lies 15 miles northwest of St. George in Utah's red rock desert, where Gunlock Reservoir provides a warm-water oasis for swimming, fishing, and boating. The 30-site campground underwent recent improvements, with widened sites now equipped with electric and water hookups, covered picnic structures, and fire pits. The campground offers full modern amenities including hot showers, flush toilets, and a dump station. Park hours run 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily, with seasonal boat ramp hours (May-September 7am-8pm, October-April 7am-7pm). A minimum two-night stay is required, with reservations available through ReserveAmerica. The mild southern Utah climate keeps Gunlock accessible year-round, though summer brings the warmest reservoir temperatures for swimming. Day-use visitors can access the beach areas, but beach camping is prohibited. Fireworks of any kind are not permitted in the park.
