About
Leeds Designated Dispersed offers primitive camping in the scenic Leeds Canyon area of Dixie National Forest, located east of the small town of Leeds in Washington County, Utah. The area features approximately 11 designated dispersed campsites spread along Forest Service Roads 031 and 032, with camping restricted to these numbered sites to protect the natural resources along the Leeds Creek Kiln Trail corridor. As designated dispersed camping on national forest land, there are no amenities or services provided. Campers must be fully self-sufficient, bringing their own water, packing out all trash, and preparing for primitive conditions. Some sites may have user-created fire rings, though campfires are subject to current fire restrictions. The area is accessed via dirt and gravel forest roads that are generally passable for standard vehicles in dry conditions but may become difficult during wet weather. The surrounding landscape offers access to hiking trails including the Leeds Creek Kiln Trail, which passes historic charcoal kilns from the mining era. Standard Dixie National Forest dispersed camping rules apply: 16-day stay limit before moving at least 10 miles, camp at least 300 feet from water sources, and motorized vehicles must stay within 150 feet of designated routes.
