About

Sinkhole Campground is located in the ponderosa pine forest of Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest, within walking distance of Willow Springs Lake. The campground offers 26 back-in sites on asphalt roads, including two accessible sites and two double sites. Sites 14 through 26 are available for advance reservation via Recreation.gov, while sites 1 through 13 operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Each site includes a campfire ring with grill and picnic table. The campground provides accessible vault toilets, drinking water, and trash service, with a camp host available on-site during the operating season. Heavy rainfall is common through July and August, and nighttime temperatures can be cool to cold year-round at this elevation. Willow Springs Lake, approximately one mile away, offers excellent fishing and boating opportunities. The non-motorized Wildlife Area nearby provides hiking and mountain biking trails. The historic General Crook National Recreation Trail is also within a mile of the campground. Woods Canyon Lakes, located about 10 miles west via Forest Roads 300 and 105, has a store offering boat and kayak rentals. Basic services including gas, phone, and groceries are available about four miles east in Forest Lakes.
