Open for the 2026 season. The campground operates May 1 through October 31. Sites 1-13 are first-come-first-served; sites 14-26 require advance reservation through Recreation.gov. Fire danger across the forest is currently High.

The Red Flag Warning for Monday will expire at 7 PM MST. These conditions redevelop by late Tuesday morning, with Critical Fire Weather conditions developing for much of Tuesday in the same area, Expect southwest winds 15 to 25 mph, with gusts up to 40 mph, along with minimum relative humidity values from 6 to 20 percent. * WHERE...East and southeast of Flagstaff, stretching along the Mogollon Rim and White Mountains, as well as northward into the Little Colorado River Valley. About
Located in the ponderosa pine forest of the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests, Sinkhole Campground provides a convenient base for exploring Willow Springs Lake and the surrounding high country. The campground sits at 7,560 feet elevation and features 26 back-in sites on chip-seal roads. Sites 1-13 are first-come-first-served while sites 14-26 accept advance reservations. The campground includes two ADA-accessible sites and two double sites for larger groups. Each site comes equipped with a campfire ring with grill and picnic table. Shared amenities include accessible vault toilets, potable drinking water, and trash service. A camp host is available on-site during the season. The campground is within a mile of Willow Springs Lake, which offers fishing and boating opportunities. Hiking and mountain biking are available in the nearby non-motorized Wildlife Area, and the General Crook National Recreation Trail is within a mile of the campground. Woods Canyon Lake is about 10 miles west via Forest Roads 300 and 105, with boat and kayak rentals available. Supplies, gas, and groceries are available four miles east at Forest Lakes. Be prepared for afternoon thunderstorms in July and August, and cool to cold nighttime temperatures.
