About

Signal Mountain Campground is centrally located inside Grand Teton National Park on the southeast shore of Jackson Lake, providing a convenient basecamp for accessing all the park has to offer. The 81-site campground sits in a lodgepole pine forest near Signal Mountain Lodge and offers spectacular views of Mount Moran and the northern Teton Range. Signal Mountain itself is an isolated glacial moraine rising over 800 feet above the valley floor. The campground provides direct access to two popular trails: the 3-mile Lakeshore Trail following the bluff to a backcountry campsite, and the 6-mile Signal Mountain Summit Trail loop. Being centrally located, many of the park's classic hikes including Jenny Lake, Lupine Meadows, Cascade Canyon, String Lake, Taggart Lake, and Paintbrush Canyon are within 15-20 minute drives. Jackson Lake itself stretches nearly 7 miles wide and 15 miles long with depths over 400 feet, offering excellent trout fishing, boating, kayaking, and paddleboarding opportunities. The campground features sites with picnic tables and fire rings in metal grates. Twenty-five sites offer electric hookups. Facilities include flush toilets with cold running water, a dump station, coin-operated showers, and laundry facilities near the entrance. Signal Mountain Lodge adjacent to the campground provides restaurants, a camp store, marina with boat rentals, and guided fishing and float trips. The area is frequented by red fox, coyotes, bears, mule deer, eagles, and osprey, making proper food storage essential and regularly enforced.
