About

The Colter Bay Tent Village provides a distinctive summer camp experience in Grand Teton National Park. Located within walking distance of Jackson Lake's shores, the village features 66 tent cabins arranged in 33 duplex units, each nestled among towering lodgepole pines. The cabins combine rustic charm with basic comfort, featuring two permanent log walls that share a common wall with an adjoining cabin, plus two weather-proof canvas walls and roof. Each unit includes two sets of pull-down bunk beds with padding (sleeping four), an interior potbelly wood-burning stove for heat, and lighting. Colter Bay Village serves as a full-service base camp with practical amenities including showers, laundry facilities, restaurants, and a grocery store. Recreation opportunities abound with the Colter Bay Marina offering boat rentals, lake cruises, and guided fishing trips on Jackson Lake. Several hiking trails depart from the area, including routes to Swan Lake, Heron Pond, and Hermitage Point. The Colter Bay Visitor Center houses the David T. Vernon Indian artifacts collection and hosts daily ranger-led programs. Wildlife viewing is exceptional, with opportunities to see black bears, grizzly bears, moose, elk, deer, bald eagles, and other species.
