Closed for the season. This is a day-use only facility; overnight camping is prohibited. The Diamond Lake area typically opens late spring after snowmelt. Reservations available through Recreation.gov when open.
Alcohol Prohibitions
This Order describes acts that are prohibited upon lands, roads and trails within the National Forest System administered by the Forest Service Pacific Northwest Region in regards to alcoholic beverages.
Aquatic Invasive Species
This Order prohibits 1) possessing, storing, or transporting any aquatic invasive animal species AND 2) prohibits possessing, storing, or transporting any aquatic or riparian invasive plant species - on National Forest System lands in the Pacific Northwest Region as specified in the Order.
Restrictions on Use of Forage and Mulch Products

About
South Shore Pavilion is a day-use group facility located on Diamond Lake in the Umpqua National Forest. The open-air pavilion, built in Cascadian style architecture, sits in a towering lodgepole pine forest with picturesque views of Mount Bailey and Mount Thielsen. It can accommodate up to 60 people with a maximum of 50 vehicles. The pavilion features electricity, potable water with a sink, picnic tables, and a large grill. Flush toilets are available nearby. Horseshoe pits and volleyball courts are located near the pavilion for group recreation. A boat ramp is on-site for access to Diamond Lake, which has a 10-mph speed limit. This is strictly a day-use facility. Overnight camping is prohibited at the pavilion. The Diamond Lake area offers 11 miles of paved bike trail, numerous hiking trails, and excellent trout fishing. Crater Lake National Park's north entrance is just 9 miles south.
Directions
From Roseburg, OR, take OR-138 E / NE Diamond Lake Boulevard. Continue on OR-138 for approximately 80 miles, turn right onto Forest Road 4795 (Diamond Lake Loop) at the north entrance to Diamond Lake Recreation Area. Proceed 3.2 miles and turn right at the sign for South Shore. Go 0.5 mile to the South Shore entrance.
