About
South Shore Hiker/Biker Camp is a non-motorized camping destination located near Broken Arrow Campground on Diamond Lake in the Umpqua National Forest. Situated at mile-high elevation, this camp is specifically designed for hikers and cyclists, accessible via the Dellenback Trail. The location offers immediate access to the 11-mile paved Dellenback Trail that circles portions of Diamond Lake, making it ideal for those exploring the area on foot or by bike. The camp sits just off the serene Diamond Lake, which is surrounded by spectacular views of Mount Bailey and Mount Thielsen. While the camp itself does not have drinking water, potable water and additional amenities are available at nearby developed campgrounds around Diamond Lake. The area is a popular destination with access to fishing, hiking, and biking opportunities. This is a fee-free campground with flush toilets available. Visitors can access the camp from the South Shore Picnic Area by following the Dellenback Bike Path. The maximum length of stay anywhere in the forest is 14 days.
Directions
From Glide, follow OR-138 E, turn right onto Highway 230, turn right onto Forest Service Road 6592, turn left onto FSR 4795, turn right into South Shore Picnic Area, follow the road to the end of the parking area, continue on the Dellenback Bike Path. The Hiker/Biker Camp is ahead on the right.
