About

Broken Arrow Campground is a large, family-friendly campground nestled in lodgepole pine forest at the south end of Diamond Lake in Umpqua National Forest. With 121 campsites spread throughout the forest, the campground offers a quieter alternative to other Diamond Lake campgrounds while still providing spectacular views of Mount Bailey and Mount Thielsen. Though set back from the immediate shoreline, the lake is easily accessible for fishing, swimming, kayaking, and picnicking. The campground serves as an excellent base for exploring the Diamond Lake Recreation Area. An 11-mile paved trail circles the lake, perfect for biking and walking. Rainbow trout fishing is popular both from shore and by boat. Hikers can access numerous trails in the area, with horseback riding trails within 5 miles. The nearby Diamond Lake Resort offers amenities including bicycle, boat, and horse rentals, plus lodging, a restaurant, grocery store, and fuel. Interpretive programs are offered on Saturday evenings during summer at the nearby Diamond Lake Campground amphitheater. The explosive geologic history of the Cascade Range is on full display here, with the dramatic peaks of Mount Bailey and Mount Thielsen dominating the skyline. The Pacific Crest Trail passes through the area, and Crater Lake National Park is a short drive away. The campground can comfortably accommodate large groups and offers a more secluded camping experience in dense lodgepole pine forest.
