About

Scofield State Park sits at 7,600 feet above sea level in the Manti-La Sal Mountains of the Wasatch Plateau, offering a 2,800-acre reservoir and year-round recreation opportunities. The park features two distinct campground areas to accommodate different camping styles and equipment. Mountain View Campground, located six miles north of the town of Scofield near the dam, provides 34 campsites built on a terrace overlooking the reservoir. These sites are best suited for smaller trailers or tents and offer incredible lake views. The campground includes modern restrooms, hot showers, fish cleaning stations, a sanitary disposal station, and a boat launch ramp. Madsen Bay Campground sits on the northern shoreline and has been recently renovated with 36 paved pull-through sites designed for larger camping trailers. Each site includes electric and water hookups, picnic tables, and grills. The reservoir is renowned for producing cutthroat trout, rainbow trout, and tiger trout year-round. Summer activities include boating, water skiing, and fishing, while winter brings ice fishing, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing opportunities in the spectacular mountain setting.
