Gooseberry Creek Campground is located on an aspen-covered hillside in a beautiful mountain valley above Gooseberry Reservoir at an elevation of 8,500 feet on the Wasatch Plateau. The campground sits within a grove of aspens dotted with mature fir trees, with sagebrush, grasses, and summer wildflowers filling the scenic valley. Some campsites are sunny with little tree cover, while others have ample shade. The campground offers 10 individual first-come, first-served sites and one reservable group site. The group site includes large picnic tables, serving tables, and a fire ring. All sites have picnic tables and fire pits. This is a pack-in, pack-out facility, so campers must remove all trash upon departure. A well-maintained dirt road provides good access for all vehicles. Gooseberry Reservoir, visible from several campsites, offers good cutthroat and rainbow trout fishing and hand-powered watercraft access for canoeing. The Great Western Trail runs near the campground, providing excellent opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, and ATV/OHV riding. The reservoir is open to hand-powered watercraft only with no boat ramp available.

Directions

From Fairview, Utah, travel north 0.6 miles on US 89 to junction with US 31. Travel east on US 31 for 8.5 miles to junction with Forest Development Road 124. Go north on FDR 124 for 1 mile to campground.
