Chute Group Campground is located in beautiful Huntington Canyon along the Huntington Canyon National Scenic Byway (Utah Highway 31) at an elevation of 7,800 feet in the Manti-La Sal National Forest. The campground provides one large group site that can accommodate up to 50 people, making it ideal for family reunions, scout groups, or other organized gatherings. The site features a large gravel parking area with ample space for RVs of any size. Pine and fir trees line the edges of the campground, though they offer limited shade within the site itself. Huntington Creek flows alongside the campground, providing scenic beauty and excellent fishing opportunities. The creek is a Blue Ribbon fishery known for quality brown, cutthroat, and rainbow trout. Amenities include picnic tables, serving tables, benches, fire rings, and Dutch oven stands. Accessible vault toilets are provided, but no drinking water is available on-site; potable water can be obtained nearby at the Stuart Guard Station. The area offers abundant recreational opportunities including fishing, hunting, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, rock climbing, and scenic driving. The 6-mile Left Fork of the Huntington National Recreation Trail is nearby and open to hikers and horseback riders. The surrounding canyon features numerous lakes and streams, vibrant summer wildflowers, colorful fall foliage, and abundant wildlife. The historic Stuart Guard Station Visitor Center is also nearby, offering exhibits of 1930s ranger life and Civilian Conservation Corps projects.
