Sandy Cove Campground occupies a wooded peninsula on the north shore of Canton Lake, a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers impoundment on the North Canadian River in northwest Oklahoma. The 35 family campsites are shaded by blackjack oak and post oak trees and equipped with 30-amp electric hookups. Water is available via shared hydrants with Y-connectors; campers with longer rigs should bring 100-foot hoses. There is no sewer hookup or dump station on site, but the Canadian Campground dump station is approximately 3 miles away on the lake's south side. The campground's main draw is its large sandy swim beach, one of the biggest in the Tulsa District. Canton Lake supports walleye, striped bass, catfish, and white bass fishing. The annual Walleye Rodeo fishing derby, held the Thursday after Mother's Day, draws thousands of anglers and requires a 2-night minimum stay. Personal watercraft, water skiing, and tubing are popular on the broad stretch of water near the dam. Hunters frequent the 14,862-acre Canton Wildlife Management Area adjacent to the lake, which holds whitetail deer, wild turkey, quail, and waterfowl. Roman Nose State Park and Gloss Mountains State Park are within 30 minutes. Several restaurants and a casino with a 9-hole golf course are located within 3 miles.

From Canton, OK: Go 0.5 miles west on Highway 51, turn right (north) on Highway 58A and travel 2.3 miles. Turn right at the 3-way stop intersection and continue on Highway 58A to the north end of the dam. The campground and swimming area are on the left.
