About

Canadian Campground occupies the northwest shore of Canton Lake on the North Canadian River in Blaine County, Oklahoma. Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the campground offers 120 family sites and one group shelter, all with electrical hookups. After an EF-3 tornado destroyed the original facilities in May 2011, the Corps rebuilt 77 sites to modern standards with 50-amp electric service and concrete pads capable of accommodating RVs up to 45 feet. The campground features flush and pit toilets, showers, potable water, two dump stations, and a playground. Three boat ramps provide lake access for boaters and anglers. Canton Lake is one of the few locations in western Oklahoma offering camping, fishing, boating, and hunting in one area. The 14,862-acre Canton Wildlife Management Area adjacent to the lake supports whitetail deer, wild turkey, quail, and waterfowl. The campground operates year-round with seasonal variations. From May through Labor Day, full amenities are available. Winter operations (November through March) maintain electricity but shut off water systems, with pit toilets only. The annual Walleye Rodeo fishing derby in mid-May requires a 2-night minimum stay.
