Canadian Campground sits along the shores of Canton Lake on the North Canadian River, just 2.5 miles from Canton, Oklahoma. This popular Army Corps of Engineers campground offers 120 family campsites, all with electric hookups (both 30 and 50 amp available), plus water hookups during the main season. The campground's central location and scenic setting make it a hub for outdoor recreation in western Oklahoma. Canton Lake is renowned for its walleye fishing, with the annual Walleye Rodeo fishing derby held each mid-May drawing thousands of visitors for the 4-day event. The lake also offers excellent opportunities for boating, water skiing, tubing, and swimming along its gently sloping sandy beaches. Three boat ramps provide easy lake access. Facilities include both flush and pit toilets, showerhouses, drinking water, two dump stations, and a playground. The campground also features one day-use group picnic shelter. The shores are lined with native eastern cottonwood, post and blackjack oak, and black willow, supplemented with American elm, lacebark elm, sycamore, and silver maple for shade. Nearby attractions include the 14,862-acre Canton Wildlife Management Area, home to whitetail deer, wild turkey, bobwhite quail, and waterfowl. Roman Nose State Park and Glass Mountains State Park are within a 30-minute drive, and a disc golf course is located about 4 miles away at Big Bend Recreation Area.

Directions

From Canton, OK: Go 0.5 miles west on Highway 51, turn north on Highway 58A. Travel 2.3 miles to a 3-way stop. Continue straight (west) curving right to a 4-way stop. Continue north a short distance, taking the right fork to the campground entrance.
