Big Bend

About

Big Bend Park is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers campground located on the west side of Canton Lake in Blaine County, Oklahoma. The area draws campers, boaters, anglers, and hunters to one of the few places in western Oklahoma offering such diverse recreation. The lake is particularly known for walleye fishing, with the annual Walleye Rodeo derby held the week after Mother's Day attracting thousands of visitors. The campground offers 102 campsites with 50-amp electric and water hookups, plus 12 primitive non-electric sites. Two comfort stations provide hot showers and flush toilets, and a dump station is available for RV waste disposal. Sites feature paved driveways, covered picnic tables, and fire rings. Four boat ramps provide lake access for fishing and water sports including personal watercraft, tubing, and water skiing. Gently sloping beaches on the northern shore offer swimming opportunities. The surrounding Canton Wildlife Management Area encompasses nearly 15,000 acres and supports whitetail deer, wild turkey, quail, and waterfowl hunting. A disc golf course is located in the Big Bend Day Use Area. Natural shade comes from eastern cottonwood, oak, willow, and planted elm, sycamore, and maple trees.
