About
Blaine Park campground sits on the shores of Canton Lake in northwest Oklahoma along the North Canadian River, approximately 2.5 miles from the town of Canton. Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, this primitive campground provides 13 non-electric tent sites with pads spacious enough to accommodate camper trailers, though you'll need to bring a generator for power. Facilities include pit toilets and solar-powered well drinking water, along with a nature trail and playground.
Canton Lake draws visitors for fishing, boating, swimming, and hunting. The lake is particularly renowned for walleye fishing, with the annual Walleye Rodeo held in mid-May attracting thousands of anglers for the four-day event. Personal watercraft, tubing, and water skiing are popular on the broad waters paralleling the dam, while gently sloping sandy beaches invite swimmers and sunbathers.
The surrounding area features several tree species including eastern cottonwood, post and blackjack oak, black willow, American and lacebark elm, sycamore, and silver maple. Nearby attractions include the 14,862-acre Canton Wildlife Management Area for hunting whitetail deer, wild turkey, quail, and waterfowl, plus Roman Nose State Park and Glass Mountains State Park within a half-hour drive.
