About

Sandy Beach Lake Campground is a rustic family campground situated on the southeast corner of Sandy Beach Lake in the northwest portion of the Northern Highland American Legion State Forest. The campground offers 33 reservable campsites (numbered 1901-1933), including three walk-to tent-only sites (1914-1916) where campers must hike a short distance from their cars to the campsite. The campground provides minimal facilities typical of rustic NHAL campgrounds including two vault toilet buildings, two hand pumps for drinking water, and separate trash and recycling dumpsters. The campground features a large picnic and beach area with parking, perfect for swimming and relaxing by the lake. A boat launch is located near the campground entrance, providing access for boating and fishing on Sandy Beach Lake. All campsites are reservable and must be reserved before setting up, either online or by calling 1-888-947-2757. Reservations can be made for the same day of arrival or up to 11 months in advance. A Wisconsin State Park & Forest Vehicle Admission Sticker is required for entry.
