Jag Lake Group Campground provides a tent-only group camping experience within the expansive Northern Highland-American Legion State Forest in Vilas County, Wisconsin. Situated on the shores of Jag Lake, the campground can accommodate groups of up to 80 campers, making it ideal for scout troops, family reunions, and other organized groups seeking a rustic outdoor experience. The campground features vault toilets and hand pumps providing potable drinking water. As a primitive-style group camp, there are no hookups, showers, or modern amenities. Campers should come prepared for a back-to-basics experience. Fires are permitted in designated fire rings, and firewood must be certified or sourced from within 10 miles of the property. The Northern Highland-American Legion State Forest encompasses over 236,000 acres and more than 900 lakes, offering extensive opportunities for hiking, fishing, paddling, and wildlife observation. All vehicles on site must display a valid Wisconsin State Park and Forest vehicle admission sticker. Maximum stay is limited to seven nights per visit and seven nights within any 14-day period.
