Emily Lake Recreation Area sits on the pristine 26-acre Emily Lake in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, just 5 minutes west of Lac du Flambeau. This rustic campground features 11 first-come, first-served sites, most with lake views and spacious layouts. The campground serves as an excellent base camp for exploring the surrounding Northwoods trails or as a destination for family camping. The recreation area includes a paved boat launch for motorized and non-motorized watercraft, a swimming area, and access to quality panfishing for crappie, bluegill, northern pike, musky, and walleye. Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table and fire ring with grill. Drinking water and vault toilets are available in the campground, and garbage and recycling dumpsters are provided for campers. The campground is near the Round Lake Non-motorized area, offering opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, and winter snowshoeing. With over 1.5 million acres of Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest to explore, visitors have access to hundreds of miles of trails, numerous lakes and streams, and both motorized and non-motorized recreation areas. Park Falls, located about 20 miles away, offers restaurants and attractions for day trips.

Directions

From the intersection of Highways 13 and 70 in Fifield, drive east on Highway 70 approximately 22.3 miles to FR 509 (Chippewa Trail). Turn left (north) and continue on FR 509 for 3.1 miles to FR 142. Turn right (east) on FR 142 and drive 0.2 miles to FR 1178. Turn left (north) and continue 0.5 miles to the campground.
