Day Lake Boat In Campsites

About

Day Lake boat-in campsites provide a secluded primitive camping experience in the Northern Highland American Legion State Forest. Located on an electric motor-only lake south of North Creek Road between Highways M and H in Vilas County, these two remote sites offer peace and solitude far from developed campgrounds. Access is exclusively by watercraft from the boat landing, and the motor restriction ensures a quiet environment. Each of the two campsites is spaced approximately 150 yards apart and can accommodate up to six people. Facilities are minimal by design, featuring tent pads large enough for two small tents, picnic tables, fire rings, and vault toilets located nearby. The primitive nature of these sites means campers should come prepared with all necessary supplies. Reservations are required and can be made up to 11 months in advance or same-day through the Wisconsin State Park reservation system. Campers may stay up to 14 consecutive nights. Regular state forest camping fees apply. The remote location and boat-in access make these campsites ideal for paddlers and anglers seeking a true wilderness experience in Wisconsin's Northwoods.
