About

Day Lake is a 117-acre seepage lake featuring exceptionally sterile, clear water with sandy bottom visible at 28 feet depth. The lake supports specialized aquatic rosette flora including water lobelia and quillwort. Electric motors only are permitted, and the lake's distance from paved roads creates a remarkably quiet and isolated camping experience. Two primitive boat-in campsites (Site 621 and Site 622) are located approximately 150 yards apart along the shoreline. Each site includes a tent pad large enough for two small tents and a picnic table, with open-air pit toilets nearby. Maximum occupancy is 6 people per site, with stays up to 14 nights per visit. The sites are reservable through the Wisconsin state reservation system. The boat landing is accessed from Day Lake Landing Road at the north end of the lake. Day Lake is designated as State Natural Area No. 189, protecting its unique ecological characteristics. Fishing opportunities include bass and panfish, and the 3.5+ miles of shoreline offer excellent paddling. Pack out all trash.
