About

The San Luis Reservoir SRA Group Campground consists of two reservable group sites situated along the shoreline of O'Neill Forebay within San Luis Reservoir State Recreation Area. Group Camp A is the larger site, accommodating up to 60 people and 15 vehicles at $200 per night, while Group Camp B fits 30 people and 10 vehicles at $100 per night. Both sites include shade ramadas, picnic tables, fire rings, flushable restrooms, and access to hot pay showers. The park spans over 27,000 acres of water surface across three reservoirs and surrounding grasslands in Merced County. Popular activities include boating, windsurfing, fishing, and swimming at designated beach areas. The area is known for strong afternoon winds, making it a premier windsurfing destination. Wind warning lights are posted throughout the park. Summer temperatures commonly reach the mid-90s and can exceed 100°F, though evenings cool down. The region receives only 8-9 inches of rain annually, mostly between November and April. Spring brings a brief display of wildflowers across the golden hills. Dogs are permitted in the campground but must remain leashed and under immediate control.
