About

Medeiros Campground offers a primitive camping experience on the southern shoreline of O'Neill Forebay, part of the larger San Luis Reservoir State Recreation Area in California's Central Valley. This first-come, first-served campground provides basic amenities including a limited number of fire rings, shade ramadas, and picnic tables distributed among the sites. Drinking water is available at three locations throughout the campground, and chemical toilets serve campers' needs. The campground provides direct access to O'Neill Forebay, where boating, fishing, and windsurfing are popular activities. Medeiros campers enjoy the exclusive benefit of being able to fish after sunset, unlike day visitors. A boat ramp is located nearby for water access. The area is known for being very windy, with conditions that can change suddenly, so campers should be prepared. Three accessible campsites are available with accessible restrooms. Dogs are allowed in the campground but must remain on a leash and under immediate control at all times. The park is open from 6:00 a.m. to sunset daily.
