McConnell State Recreation Area Group Campground sits on 74 acres along the Merced River, about 4 miles east of Delhi in California's Central Valley. The park features two group camping sites designed for larger gatherings. The larger site accommodates up to 50 people and 12 vehicles, while the smaller site handles up to 24 people and 6 vehicles. Both sites include 20-amp electric hookups, picnic tables, and access to barbecue facilities. The campground provides restrooms with showers, drinking water, and fire rings at each site. Group Site B offers accessible tables and cooking facilities on a firm grass surface with electricity, lights, and water connections. The Merced River provides swimming, fishing, and wading opportunities. Dogs are allowed in the campground on a 6-foot leash but are not permitted on trails or beaches. Reservations are available year-round through ReserveCalifornia and require a minimum of nine occupants for group sites. Check-in is at 2 p.m. and check-out is at noon. Quiet hours run from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., with generators permitted only between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.

From Highway 99, take the El Capitan Way exit east of Delhi. Head east toward the Merced River. The park is located at 8800 McConnell Road, Ballico, approximately 4 miles east of Delhi.
