About

Manzanita Point Hike-in Group Campground sits within Henry W. Coe State Park, a vast 87,000-acre wilderness in the Diablo Range east of Morgan Hill. The campground provides an accessible introduction to backcountry camping for organized groups, requiring a 2-3 mile hike or mountain bike ride from the Coe Ranch Entrance while allowing up to two vehicles to transport equipment and supplies to the campsite. The eleven primitive group sites accommodate parties of 9 or more people. Each site features a picnic table and metal campfire ring, with vault toilets located nearby. Campers must bring their own water as there is no potable water at Manzanita Point, and wood gathering is prohibited so firewood must be packed in. Campfires in the metal rings are permitted seasonally when fire conditions allow. Vehicle access to Manzanita Point is restricted during wet conditions to protect the road. Groups must arrive during park business hours and no later than one hour before sunset. Reservations are required a minimum of 7 days in advance through ReserveCalifornia.

Directions

From Morgan Hill, take East Dunne Avenue east for approximately 13 miles. The road winds for about 10 miles past Anderson Lake to reach the Coe Ranch Entrance. From the entrance, Manzanita Point is a 2-3 mile hike or mountain bike ride.
