Rujada Day Use Picnic Area
This is a day-use picnic area only. Overnight camping is prohibited. The reservable picnic sites are open seasonally, typically through the summer months. For overnight camping, use the adjacent Rujada Campground.
Alcohol Prohibitions
This Order describes acts that are prohibited upon lands, roads and trails within the National Forest System administered by the Forest Service Pacific Northwest Region in regards to alcoholic beverages.
Aquatic Invasive Species
This Order prohibits 1) possessing, storing, or transporting any aquatic invasive animal species AND 2) prohibits possessing, storing, or transporting any aquatic or riparian invasive plant species - on National Forest System lands in the Pacific Northwest Region as specified in the Order.
Restrictions on Use of Forage and Mulch Products

About
Rujada Day Use Picnic Area is located within the Rujada recreation complex along Layng Creek in Oregon's Umpqua National Forest. The site features a large, open grassy field surrounded by Douglas fir, providing an excellent setting for family reunions, parties, and group activities. Two reservable picnic sites each accommodate up to 30 people, or both can be reserved together for groups of 60. Facilities include picnic tables and grills at each site, flush toilets, and potable drinking water. A playground and horseshoe pit provide additional recreation options. The Swordfern Trail departs from the historic Civilian Conservation Corps register booth within the picnic area, offering a moderately challenging loop hike through second-growth forest. Three spectacular waterfall trails are located within 10 miles: Spirit Falls (0.4 miles to a 60-foot waterfall), Moon Falls (0.5 miles to a 125-foot cascade), and Pinard Falls (0.6 miles to a 105-foot waterfall).

From Cottage Grove, take exit 174 on Interstate 5, then take Row River Road #2400 east for 19 miles to Road #17. Turn left on Road #17 and continue for 2 miles. Rujada is located on the right.
