About

Ivan Oakes Campground is a semi-primitive campground located on the northern shore of Lookout Point Lake in Oregon's Calapooya Mountains. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers facility offers 24 single-family campsites, each equipped with a picnic table and fire ring. Vault toilets and potable water are available throughout the campground. The Eugene-to-Pacific Crest Trail, a 108-mile recreation trail connecting Eugene to the Cascade Range, runs directly through the campground, providing easy access for hikers and bikers. Signal Point boat ramp is located less than a mile west of the campground and remains usable at low water levels. Lookout Point Lake offers excellent fishing opportunities including chinook salmon, walleye, rainbow trout, largemouth bass, and crappie. The surrounding Calapooya Mountains and proximity to Willamette National Forest provide abundant wildlife viewing. Weather during the recreation season is generally mild with temperatures ranging from the low 50s to upper 90s, though precipitation is common from May through mid-June.
