About

Ivan Oakes Campground sits on the northern shore of Lookout Point Lake in the Calapooya Mountains, offering 24 semi-primitive single-family campsites surrounded by woodland near Willamette National Forest. Each campsite includes a picnic table and fire ring, with vault toilets and potable water available throughout the campground. The Eugene-to-Pacific Crest Trail, a 108-mile recreation trail connecting Eugene to the Cascade range, runs directly along the campground providing excellent hiking access. Lookout Point Reservoir is a popular fishing destination for chinook salmon, walleye, rainbow trout, largemouth bass, and crappie. The Signal Point boat ramp, located less than one mile west of the campground, provides lake access though it may close in late August during deep drawdowns for juvenile fish passage. The area is home to diverse wildlife and experiences mild weather during the recreation season with temperatures ranging from the low 50s to upper 90s, though precipitation is common from May through mid-June. The campground operates seasonally from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend and accepts reservations through Recreation.gov. Sites accommodate a maximum of 8 people with one camping unit plus one tent, or two tents per site. Two vehicles per site are permitted if they fit on the driveway. Camping is limited to 14 days in any 30-day window, with minimum stays of 2 nights on weekends and 3 nights on holiday weekends.
