About

Nestled in the cool, quiet forest beside crystal clear Brice Creek, Lund Park Campground offers 10 campsites that provide an excellent base camp for exploring the surrounding Umpqua National Forest. The campground sits along Brice Creek, where the sounds of flowing water create a peaceful atmosphere for slow mornings drinking coffee and cozy evenings around the campfire. Just across a footbridge on the western side of the campground, hikers can access the scenic Brice Creek Trail, which follows the creek through a rocky canyon past numerous small waterfalls and pools. The 5.7-mile trail is popular for hiking and mountain biking, passing through old-growth forests with mossy cliffs and rocky shores. Additional nearby trails include the Adams Mountain Way Trail, Marten Flume Trail, and trails to Upper and Lower Trestle Falls. Lund Park has a rich mining history dating to the early 1900s when it served as a stopover for miners traveling from Cottage Grove to the Bohemia Mining Area. The site once included a post office, hotel, dam, powerhouse, and several other buildings. While most structures have been reclaimed by the forest, visitors can still see the moss-covered remains of a concrete foundation near campsite 1. The campground offers vault toilets and picnic tables but no potable water, so campers must bring their own or treat water from the creek.

Directions

From Cottage Grove, travel east on Row River Road 2400 for 19 miles to Brice Creek Road 2470. Turn right on County Road 2470 and continue for 7 miles to Lund Park, which is located on the left side of the road.
