From Recreation.gov

Power Plant Road and Rockland Recreation Area sustained substantial damage from the tornado on December 9, 2023. These areas will remain closed to the public due to the damage and devastation caused by the tornado. All Rockland picnic shelters will not be available for reservation in 2026. The team is working to coordinate funding and contract cleanup efforts, but it will likely be months before the area can fully re-open. Visitors are encouraged to utilize other local parks and USACE recreation areas during this time. About

Rockland Recreation Area sits on the shore of Old Hickory Lake in Hendersonville, Tennessee, approximately 20-25 minutes from Nashville. The lake was created by the Army Corps of Engineers on the Cumberland River and is named after President Andrew Jackson's nickname. This day-use facility offers five group picnic shelters with tables and grills, a gazebo, volleyball court, playground, and large grassy areas suitable for gatherings. Bank fishing is available, and nature trails wind through the moderately wooded area, which hosts numerous wetland species and migratory birds during winter months. The Old Hickory Lake Resource Manager's Office and Visitor Center are located within Rockland Recreation Area, providing an excellent opportunity to learn about the lake's history and programs. Note: This is a day-use area only with no overnight camping facilities.
