About

Rock Creek Reservoir Campground offers a serene lakeside camping experience in the Barlow Ranger District of Mount Hood National Forest, about 30 miles from Government Camp. The 32 campsites are arranged in two loops along the southeastern shore of the 180-acre reservoir, with many sites providing direct water access. The campground is shaded by a mix of Ponderosa Pines and oak trees. The reservoir is a popular destination for fishing, with regular stockings of rainbow trout supplementing resident bass and bluegill populations. Swimming, canoeing, and kayaking are also popular activities. Gas-powered boat motors are prohibited; only electric trolling motors are allowed. Each campsite includes a picnic table and fire ring with grill, and firewood is available for purchase from the camp host. The campground accommodates both tents and RVs up to 35 feet. Vault toilets and drinking water from a hand pump are available. Part of the adjacent day-use area closes during spring when eagles are nesting nearby.
