About
Little Badger Campground is located along Little Badger Creek on the boundary of Badger Creek Wilderness in Mount Hood National Forest. This is a very primitive campground that receives minimal maintenance, offering a rustic camping experience for those seeking solitude and wilderness access. The campground sits at approximately 4,000 feet elevation in mixed coniferous forest. The campground provides basic amenities including vault toilets and picnic tables at campsites, but campers must bring their own water as none is available on-site. Each site includes a fire pit. The remote location and rough access roads keep usage light, making it an excellent choice for campers who value peace and quiet. The campground serves as a trailhead for hiking and backpacking into Badger Creek Wilderness, with opportunities for fishing in Little Badger Creek, wildlife viewing, and horseback riding. Access requires navigating forest roads that can be challenging, particularly in early season when snow may linger. The maximum vehicle length is 16 feet due to narrow roads and small campsites. All mechanized vehicles, including mountain bikes and game carts, are prohibited within the adjacent wilderness area. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations, and payment is by cash or check only.
