About

Rock Creek Campground is a small, peaceful campground located in mixed conifer forest on the Mount Hough Ranger District of Plumas National Forest. With only 6 campsites available on a first-come, first-served basis, this campground offers solitude and a rustic camping experience. All sites are situated along Rock Creek, where the slow flow of water creates a serene setting. This is one of the few campgrounds on the Mount Hough Ranger District that allows OHV trail access directly from the campground, making it particularly popular with off-highway vehicle enthusiasts. Backcountry roads and trails are easily accessible for exploring the surrounding forest. The campground accommodates both tent and small RV camping, though facilities are minimal. The campground is maintained seasonally from mid-May through late September, weather permitting. At approximately 5,000 feet elevation in the northeastern part of the district, this area provides cooler temperatures during summer months and access to extensive backcountry recreation opportunities throughout Plumas National Forest.
