About

Meadow Camp Campground is a small, rustic facility in the Plumas National Forest's Mount Hough Ranger District, located approximately 10 miles west of Quincy off Forest Service Road 24N29. The campground features 6 improved dispersed campsites, with sites 1-3 specifically designed for equestrian use, providing plenty of space for horse trailers. Note that there is no corral or water trough, so equestrians must be self-sufficient. The campground is one of the few on the Mount Hough Ranger District offering direct OHV trail access from the campground entrance. Streamside campsites provide scenic views of Spanish Peak and Meadow Valley, with the slow-moving waters of Meadow Valley Creek nearby. The natural setting includes beautiful native grass meadows and a mixed forest of pine and red oak. Miles of roads and trails are available for both equestrian and OHV riding directly from the campground. The campground accommodates both RV and tent camping and operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations available. This is a primitive facility with vault toilets but no potable water, so visitors must bring their own water supply. Campfire permits are required when campfires are permitted. The campground is managed under a special use permit by Outdoors in Plumas concessionaire.
