About

Deanes Valley Family Campground is a quiet, secluded 7-site campground located in the Meadow Valley area of Plumas National Forest, approximately 7 miles southwest of Quincy along Forest Road 24N28. Set within a dense mixed conifer forest, the campground offers cooler temperatures during summer months and easy access to backcountry trails on the Mount Hough Ranger District. The campground is one of the few in the district that provides direct OHV trail access from the sites, making it a popular destination for off-highway vehicle enthusiasts. Several campsites are positioned along the South Fork of Rock Creek, offering a scenic forest setting with the sound of flowing water nearby. The campground operates entirely on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Facilities are basic, with vault toilets provided but no potable water available. Campers must bring their own water supply. The campground accommodates both tent camping and small trailers, though access roads and site sizes limit larger RVs. Each site includes a table and fire ring. Campfire permits are required year-round.

Directions
