About

Rock Creek Campground is a small, rustic campground located in the Plumas National Forest on the Mt. Hough Ranger District. With only 6 units available for both tent and small RV camping, all sites are positioned along Rock Creek, offering a peaceful creek-side setting. The campground is particularly popular with OHV enthusiasts as it is one of the few campgrounds in the area that provides direct access to OHV trails. This is a primitive camping experience with vault toilets available but no potable water on-site, so campers must bring their own water supply. The campground enforces a 14-day camping limit with a maximum of 6 people and 2 vehicles per campsite. The area offers opportunities for viewing plants, scenery, and wildlife, and campers should practice proper food storage as this is bear country. Rock Creek Campground operates seasonally and typically closes for the winter season at the end of October. The campground is managed by the Mount Hough Ranger District office in Quincy.
