About

Mill Creek Campground is a small, intimate lakefront campground on the shore of Bucks Lake in Plumas National Forest. Situated at 5,500 feet elevation in the northern Sierra Nevada, the campground offers 10 sites, including two walk-in sites ideal for tent campers. All sites are available first-come, first-served and include bear boxes for food storage. The campground is operated by Pacific Gas & Electric Company. The Mill Creek Trail begins at the northern end of the campground, providing direct hiking access into the Bucks Lake Wilderness. Bucks Lake offers excellent fishing for rainbow and brown trout, as well as swimming, waterskiing, and windsurfing. A boat launch, dock, and day-use facilities are available at nearby Sandy Point. The Bucks Lake area has experienced moderate burn damage from past fires. Bears are active in the area and all food must be stored in the provided bear boxes. Cell phone service is unreliable.
