About

Grizzly Creek Campground is a quiet, shaded retreat nestled in fir and pine trees at 5,500 feet elevation in the northern Sierra Mountains of Plumas National Forest. Located just one mile west of Bucks Lake, the campground features 11 sites, with 8 accommodating both tents and trailers. Some sites are positioned alongside a feeder stream to Grizzly Creek, providing a serene natural setting. The campground serves as an excellent base for exploring the surrounding wilderness. A hiking trail from the campground provides direct access to the Bucks Lake Wilderness and connects to the Pacific Crest Trail, which runs adjacent to the campground. Bucks Lake, approximately 2 miles away, offers fishing, boating, canoeing, and swimming opportunities. The area is also popular with hunters during the fall season. Grizzly Creek operates seasonally from late May through late September. Some sites are available for advance reservation while others operate on a first-come, first-served basis. The campground has vault toilets but no potable water, so campers must bring their own. Bucks Lake Marina and Haskin's Valley Store are located approximately 2 miles from the campground for supplies and services.
