About

Grizzly Creek Campground is nestled in fir and pine trees at 5,500 feet elevation in the northern Sierra Mountains, approximately one mile from Bucks Lake. The campground offers 11 sites, with 8 accommodating both tents and trailers, and several positioned alongside the creek. Each site includes a fire ring and picnic table, and vault toilets and a bear-proof dumpster are provided. The Bucks Lake area offers excellent year-round recreation including fishing, boating, canoeing, swimming, and hiking. A trail runs directly from the campground providing access to Bucks Wilderness and the Pacific Crest Trail. The area is also popular for hunting. Bears frequent this campground, so all food must be stored in appropriate bear-proof containers. Campers should bring their own drinking water as none is available on-site. The campground operates seasonally, typically from late spring through late September, weather permitting. Some sites are reservable through Recreation.gov while others remain first-come, first-served.
