About

River Edge is a group campground nestled on the banks of the Alsea River in the Siuslaw National Forest, surrounded by large Sitka spruce, Douglas fir, alder trees and blackberries. The accessible facility accommodates up to 100 guests and features a large shelter covering several picnic tables, with campfire rings and grills both under the shelter and outside. The campground provides drinking water, electricity, and four vault toilets, with firewood available for purchase onsite. The campground's open play field is ideal for group games like Frisbee and soccer, while the adjacent Alsea River beckons visitors for canoeing, swimming, and excellent fishing opportunities. Anglers cast for Coho and Chinook salmon as well as Steelhead trout. An adjacent boat ramp and day use area provide easy river access. The Alsea River flows 48.5 miles from the town of Alsea to the Pacific Coast at Waldport and Alsea Bay. Located about 25 minutes from the sandy beaches of Waldport on the Oregon Coast, the campground offers easy access to Cape Perpetua Scenic Area for whale watching and Mary's Peak, the highest point in Oregon's Coast Range. The campground is situated in the eastern part of the Siuslaw National Forest, which encompasses over 630,000 acres stretching from the lush coastal mountains to the Oregon Dunes and Pacific Coast.

From Waldport, head east on Highway 34 for about 26 miles and look for campground signs on the right.
