About
Blackberry Campground is perched on a heavily wooded bluff among tall cedars and Douglas fir in the Siuslaw National Forest, overlooking the scenic Alsea River. The well-maintained campground features 32 sites with paved parking spurs, each equipped with a campfire ring and picnic table. Some sites offer river views while others are situated beside a large, manicured grassy field. The Alsea River is a favorite destination for drift boaters, and the campground includes an on-site boat ramp for easy access. Anglers can fish by boat or from shore for Coho and Chinook salmon as well as Steelhead trout. Crawfishing is popular along the riverbank, and the river provides excellent swimming opportunities during summer months. The surrounding area is known for elk hunting, making this campground an ideal base camp for hunting parties. Located 18 miles east of Waldport along Highway 34, the campground sits within the 630,000-acre Siuslaw National Forest, where blackberry bushes scatter across the forest floor beneath the towering conifers. Sandy beaches at Waldport are just 20 minutes away, with Cape Perpetua Scenic Area another 15 minutes south.
