About

Alsea Falls Recreation Site is a Bureau of Land Management campground situated along a National Back Country Byway in the Oregon Coast Range. The campground sits along the South Fork Alsea River in a forested setting of Douglas fir, western red cedar, and vine maple. The adjacent day-use area features Alsea Falls, a 30-foot cascade that offers a refreshing destination on warm days. The campground has 16 individual campsites, all reservable through Recreation.gov. Sites can accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs up to 32 feet. Amenities include drinking water, vault toilets, fire rings, and picnic tables. The area provides hiking trails connecting to the picnic grounds and beyond, while the South Fork Alsea River offers excellent salmon and steelhead fishing during winter months. Nearby attractions include the Fall Creek Day-Use Trailhead with over 12 miles of mountain bike trails, Green Peak Falls with its 45-foot drop, and the Alsea Trout Hatchery north of the town of Alsea.
