About
River Bend Campground is a primitive campsite located in Huntington Canyon along Utah Highway 31, the Huntington Canyon National Scenic Byway. Situated at approximately 7,100 feet elevation, the campground sits in a shaded area alongside Huntington Creek, offering a peaceful setting for campers seeking solitude outside of typical developed campground environments.
The campground provides basic amenities including a double site that can accommodate up to 12 people, graveled parking spur, picnic table, and fire ring. This is a truly primitive experience with no water or vault toilet on site, though restroom facilities can be accessed at nearby Little Bear Campground to the north. The Manti-La Sal National Forest setting provides access to numerous recreational opportunities including fishing in Huntington Creek and hiking on several nearby trails.
Nearby trails include the Huntington Pipeline Trail (3.5 miles), Left Fork of Huntington National Recreational Trail (6 miles), Tie Fork/Wild Cattle/Pole Canyon Trails (7+ miles), and Horse Canyon Trails (8+ miles). The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with payment made on-site via QR code through the Recreation.gov mobile app.
Directions
