About

Lower Little Bear Campground is a primitive campground nestled in a partially shaded area alongside Huntington Creek in beautiful Huntington Canyon. Located at approximately 7,100 feet elevation along the Huntington Canyon National Scenic Byway on Utah Highway 31, this campground offers a more solitary camping experience outside of a typical campground setting. The campground provides a double site and a group site that can accommodate up to 40 people. Each site features a graveled parking spur, picnic table, and fire ring. There is no water or vault toilet on-site, but restroom facilities are available at Little Bear Campground located a quarter-mile north. Recreational opportunities abound in the area, including fishing in Huntington Creek, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, rock climbing, and scenic driving. Popular nearby trails include the six-mile Left Fork of Huntington National Recreation Trail (hiking and horses), the 10-mile Fish Creek Trail (hiking, biking, and horses), the 3.5-mile Huntington Pipeline Trail, and numerous other trails in the Tie Fork, Wild Cattle, Pole Canyon, and Horse Canyon areas. The canyon area features vibrant summer wildflowers, colorful fall foliage, and abundant wildlife.
