About

Indian Creek Campground is a group-focused facility in Manti-La Sal National Forest, situated in a high mountain valley surrounded by peaks at approximately 8,400 feet elevation. The campground features seven large group sites: one accommodating 70 people, five for 50 people each, and one for 30 people. All sites include fire rings, picnic tables, serving tables, and large parking areas. An aspen grove dots the landscape alongside sagebrush and pines, offering limited shade but vibrant autumn colors. Vault toilets and drinking water (via hand pump) are provided, but there is no electricity, garbage service, or hookups. Campers must pack out all trash. The campground is accessed via the well-maintained dirt/gravel Cottonwood Creek Road, and internal roads are also unpaved. Horses and off-road vehicles are prohibited within the campground itself. Popular activities include hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding on the many trails crisscrossing the surrounding valley and mountainsides. Potters Pond nearby offers rainbow trout fishing and canoeing. The expansive Arapeen OHV Trail System, with over 350 miles of designated trails for all skill levels, is accessible from the area.

Directions

From Orangeville, Utah, head northwest on State Route 29 for approximately 7.3 miles. Turn north onto Cottonwood Road/Forest Road 0040 and travel approximately 11.7 miles toward Upper Joe's Valley.
