About
Little Rock Campground is a primitive campsite nestled in a shaded spruce stand located in beautiful Huntington Canyon along the Huntington Canyon National Scenic Byway on Utah Highway 31. Sitting at approximately 8,000 feet elevation, the campground provides a graveled parking spur, picnic table, and fire ring. The canyon area has numerous lakes and streams, vibrant summer wildflowers, colorful fall foliage, and abundant wildlife.
The campground is available on a first-come, first-served basis only. Visitors are required to physically arrive at the campground to purchase and claim a site. Once on-site, campers can pay by scanning a QR code using the Recreation.gov mobile app. The cost is $5 per night per vehicle, with Interagency Senior/Access Recreation Passes providing a 50% discount.
Popular activities include fishing, hunting, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, rock climbing, and scenic driving. Nearby Huntington Creek is a Blue Ribbon fishery offering high-quality fishing for brown, cutthroat, and rainbow trout. The 6-mile Left Fork of Huntington National Recreation Trail is nearby and open to hikers and horseback riders. Additional trails include the Huntington Pipeline Trail (3.5 miles), Tie Fork/Wild Cattle/Pole Canyon Trails (7+ miles), and Horse Canyon Trails (8+ miles). Trailheads are about a mile away in either direction, and a trail passes behind the campground that can take you north towards Engineer Canyon or south to Stuart Guard Station.
Directions
From Huntington, Utah head northwest on Highway 31 for approximately 21 miles. The campsite is 1/2 mile past Old Folks Flat Campground and will be on the right hand side of the road.
