About
Reversed Creek Campground offers a quiet, shaded retreat in the June Lake area of the eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains at 7,600 feet elevation. The small facility features 17 well-spaced campsites tucked into a mature aspen grove, providing privacy and natural beauty. Gull Lake sits directly across from the campground entrance, offering excellent rainbow trout fishing, while nearby June Lake provides additional fishing and boating opportunities. The campground is surrounded by dramatic mountain peaks reaching 11,000 to 12,000 feet in elevation. Wildlife is abundant in the area, including black bear, mountain lions, mule deer, pine marten, and pika. Each campsite can accommodate vehicles up to 30 feet and includes a bear-proof locker for food storage, picnic table, and fire pit. The facility provides flush toilets and drinking water from a hand pump. Outdoor enthusiasts can explore numerous hiking trails in the area, including routes to Mammoth Rock, Sherwin Lakes, and Gaylor Lake. The scenic June Lake Loop drive offers expansive views of rugged peaks and alpine lakes. The Ansel Adams Wilderness is accessible via nearby trailheads, and Yosemite National Park and Mono Lake make excellent day trips. A boat ramp and marina are available at nearby June Lake Campground.
Directions
From U.S. Highway 395, take the southern junction with Highway 158. Drive west on Highway 158 for 2.3 miles to June Lake, then continue 0.4 mile to the campground sign. Turn left and drive 0.1 mile to the campground entrance.
