About
June Lake Campground occupies a prime lakefront position on the eastern shore of June Lake in the eastern Sierra Nevada. At 7,600 feet elevation, the 28 campsites are set among mixed aspen and pine forest with views of surrounding peaks reaching 11,000 to 12,000 feet. Each site has a bear-proof food locker, and the campground has flush toilets and drinking water. The campground's proximity to June Lake makes it ideal for fishing rainbow and Alpers trout, canoeing, and boating. A marina with boat rentals is nearby. Multiple hiking trails are minutes away, including access to the Ansel Adams Wilderness via the Fern Lake Trail. The June Lake Loop scenic drive offers expansive mountain and lake views. The town of June Lake provides convenient access to groceries, restaurants, and gift shops within walking distance. Mono Lake and Yosemite National Park are easy day trips. This is an active bear area; all food and scented items must be stored in the provided bear boxes.
Directions
From US Highway 395, take the southern junction with State Highway 158. Drive 2.3 miles on Highway 158. The campground is on the right, just past the fire station in the town of June Lake.
